Maintenance - Lithofin

- LITHOFIN MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR OUTDOOR NATURAL STONE FLOORING:

For natural stone that is laid outdoors, there are no specific extra maintenance requirements apart from the normal maintenance. You can always opt to do a thorough cleaning once a year with Lithofin MN Outdoor Cleaner. For somewhat more stain-sensitive materials, it can be useful to preventively treat the flooring with Lithofin Stain-Stop W.

In this way, you are well-protected against any grease spots (e.g. summer BBQs), given that the spot will be able to penetrate much less deeply into the stone.

- LITHOFIN MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR KITCHEN COUNTERTOPS IN NATURAL STONE:

For kitchen countertops, it is recommended to impregnate it with Lithofin MN Stain-Stop immediately before commissioning. Lithofin MN Easy-Clean can be used for daily use and maintenance. Regular maintenance is crucially important here. It is strongly recommended to repeat the impregnation each year.

- LITHOFIN MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR INDOOR FLOORING:

We recommend using Lithofin MN Power-Clean for this. This product must be thoroughly scrubbed in, using a Lithofin scouring pad with handle. This Power-Clean may already be used as of 1 week after installation.

So long as the floor has not yet been impregnated, it may be cleaned with water and Lithofin MN Wash & Clean. For this phase in the cleaning it is not recommended to use a nourishing soap, since this fixes the dirt in the stone.

If the floor is laid in a mortar bed, after several months of drying out the floor can be impregnated with Lithofin Stain-Stop W. This product may NOT be used for polished limestone! Polished limestone such as marble can be impregnated with Lithofin MN Stain-Stop. If the floor was adhesively bonded, it may already be impregnated with Lithofin Stain-Stop W after 2 weeks of drying out. After impregnation, the floor can be further maintained with Lithofin MN Wash & Clean. If after a time you´d like to see some extra gloss on your floor, you can always use the product Lithofin MN Care-Seal, which lends extra brilliance to your natural stone floor. 

Sandstones:

With sandstones, we recommend repeating the impregnation with Lithofin Stain-Stop W several times (at long intervals) for an optimal effect.

Noire de Provence:

For this slate it is recommended to use Lithofin Stain-Stop Plus, which penetrates into the stone, intensifies the dark colour and at the same time ensures that the stone retains its mat effect. Rub in the product uniformly in a thin layer, tile by tile. After this impregnation, regular maintenance may be done with Lithofin MN Wash & Clean.

- LITHOFIN MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATHROOM AND SHOWER SPACES:

First, clean the floor area in a bathroom space with Lithofin MN Power-Clean before impregnating with Lithofin MN Stain-Stop. Apply this spot mixture with a cloth and allow to dry for a bit. Then the weekly maintenance can be done with Lithofin MN Wash & Clean. 

Before impregnating a shower space or walls in a bathroom, clean with Lithofin MN Easy-Clean. Then carefully apply Lithofin MN Stain-Stop with a cloth and let it dry out for a bit. It is strongly recommended to repeat this impregnation in a shower space with Lithofin MN Stain-Stop every 6 months.
